1. Mackenzie Park

Located along 301 Interstate 27, Lubbock, Mackenzie Park deserves to be a frequent visit destination for families and friends. It is a 542-acre well-maintained park that offers the perfect set-up for various recreational activities, including baseball playing, golfing, jogging, biking, fishing, picnicking, and much more.

2. Brushy Creek Lake Park

Found along 3300 Brushy Creek Road, the 90-acre park presents a playground, a water playscape, multi-purpose trails, pavilions, volleyball courts, and a workout station. With plenty of shaded sections, enough parking space, and the pleasant breeze from the 38-acre lake within, this is an area you will never regret visiting.

Other on-site amenities include a fishing pier, restrooms, benches, tables, and BBQ pits and grills.

3. Pace Bend Park

The Pace Bend Park, situated along 2805 Pace Bend Road North, Spicewood, provides outdoor lovers with a ton of activities to enjoy. The area is famous for camping on the cliffs while enjoying the stunning overlook of Lake Travis, swimming on the beach, and exploring the Hill Country beauty with miles of multi-use trails.

The west part of the park has high limestone cliffs and numerous rocky coves waiting to be explored. Primitive campsites provide picnic tables, fire rings, BBQ grills, and enough shade from the lovely tall trees around. However, camping on primitive sites is available on first-come, first-served scheduling. There are also 10 improved camping sites that offer water, electrical hookups, washrooms, and showers.

4. Landa Park

There’s a reason why Landa Park attracts visitors from all walks of life: the scenic and lovely environment. Located along 164 Landa Park Drive, New Braunfels, the park boasts a miniature train, a scenic Landa Lake, two playgrounds, the Panther Canyon, an arboretum, and much more. Popular activities here include paddle boating, swimming, golfing, running, and wildlife watching.

5. Lake Pflugerville Park

Perched along 18216 Weiss Lane, Pflugerville, this is a great location to unwind and reset. The area offers a 3-mile trekking trail, a playground, picnic venues, a boat launch, a beach place, and a pavilion. Visitors can also make use of washrooms, picnic tables, fishing piers, grills, and BBQ pits around. In the summer months, you can rent a kayak or a paddleboard for some more fun time on the water.
