Four Reasons the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Will Be Worth the WaitThe Silverado made news when Chevrolet released its plans to fully update the already popular truck. Since this announcement, the official release date of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado has been moved. But with features that are better than its predecessors’, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado may just be worth the wait.

Updated Design

This imminent Chevrolet Silverado will come with an updated design —  including a new front and rear fascia — and additional exterior colors. The new colors aren’t yet released, but industry experts speculate on what may be available. In addition, the Silverado will likely have the traditional Chevrolet two-tiered grille design and larger LED headlights.

On the inside, you can expect a more modern cabin with upgraded materials and a bigger driver infotainment screen. The gauge cluster comes with a full digital display option, and the center console looks different from the past models’. Chevrolet will remove the center shifter you’re familiar with for a more open feel. A larger sunroof will also be available in some trim levels.

Modern Technologies

Expect a few upgrades to the available technologies on the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. With the anticipated updated Google Automotive Services, this car will add live traffic and location features. Select trim levels will also include an available semi-autonomous driving system with Super Cruise for seamless towing.

These updates do not come at the expense of existing technologies. The 2022 Silverado carries over Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and connectivity tools such as two audio speakers and Bluetooth capabilities. Other technology updates also improve safety in the 2022 Silverado. With features like a rearview camera system and teen driver alerts, the current model already has a competitive edge over other trucks in the market when it comes to safety. We expect even more updated safety features in the 2022 Silverado.

Additional Power

As if the Silverado wasn’t already capable enough, Chevrolet has introduced a new engine, a 6.6-liter L8T V-8 engine, for the 2022 model year. You will still be able to choose from an additional four engines, including a 4.3-liter EcoTec or a 3.0-liter turbocharged Duramax engine. The 2022 Silverado uses a standard 4.3-liter V-6 engine with 310 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. Of all the engines in the powertrain lineup, the 6.6-liter turbocharged Duramax will deliver the most power: 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.  Drivers will also be able to choose from a six-, eight-, or 10-speed automatic transmission.

Accommodating Features

Chevrolet understands the importance of features that improve your workday. To this end, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will include the updated Multi-Flex tailgate, which debuted in the 2021 model. This innovative tailgate — easily controllable with the key fob  — offers six different positions for a truly functional design. Whether you want a traditional tailgate or need a step-up to access your cargo, the Multi-Flex tailgate can do it all.

From Chevrolet veterans to first-time drivers, everyone is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Even though you may have to wait a little longer to get your hands on this impressive truck, its complete revamp is worth the wait.
